M31 The Andromeda Galaxy was created by Keith g
Sorry I could'nt make it to the whirlpool, but I did get a chance on Saturday night to have a go at M31, even though it was very foggy Visually, the andromeda galaxy is quite big to the naked eye under good dark skies, so here is my attempt at showing it as it is..I rattled off 35 one minute shots and 15 dark frames with my 400D, 135mm lens at f4.5, but I see my tracking was'nt great either but here it is anyway, I could only use 15 shots in Deepsky Stacker...just a crop in photoshop along with minor adjustments to levels and curves...I'll have a go again under better skies next time round.

Great image Keith. I tried this also with over 3 hours of image data and could not get anywhere near the level of detail you have there!

Hi Keith,
That is a great image Keith, the galaxy really looks like it is sitting behind the stars in 3D. The core is not over exposed yet the arms are well shown.

Nice one Kieth.
The detail in the arms is great.
Tell me, what did you mount the camera on?
