Yep, what you are doing Brendan is substituting the camera lens with the actual scope, all you are doing here is now finding out how to connect the camera to the scope...It's a bit confusing initially, I wish it could be a bit simpler, but once you see the connection, you will get it no problems
Keith..

Paul - what you are saying is that the camera with the telescope becomes like a prime lens?

Cheers - I can understand the connection, just not the magnification. So basically you cannot change magnification - you get what you get dependant on the telescope itself.
I've ordered the Revelation Eyepiece Projection and Prime Focus Camera Adaptor as Joanna suggested - can play around then!
Thanks everyone.

IF you put an extension tube between the camera and back of such a scope, you can turn your scope from a F10 to a F12 or more, basically the further the camera is away from the back of a SCT scope, the higher the "magnification" and smaller the field of view, this is because the moving primary mirror working with the secondary acts like a variable barlow lens system.

What the lads say above about extension tubes is true for refractors and reflectors, but it is a different situation if you have a Schmidt Cassegrain (SCT) telescope, the effective focal length of a SCT scope is not a constant!.Thanks - but I'm still baffled by what does the magnification?

Thansk Dave. I have a 115mm reflector. Cannot wait to get all the kit and give it a go.
