Heres some Nov 6th
Celestron 80ED piggybacked on a Celestron CG11
Canon Digital Rebel Xt
13 x 1 min exposures plus darks and flats
processing in ImagesPlus; PaintShop Pro; and Photoshop.
6 November at 03:02
Near Birr Ireland
The obvious green coma outer part of the coma is gone but there is a brightening off to the south. There is also an obvious extension of the coma to the south and when I over process the image the ion tail is obvious... will post later.

Still waiting on this ion tail DaveG. Hurry up and finishing processing - its now 10th.
Love to see it pleeease!
Beaut photo by the way, you obviously put a lot of work into this one.
Have a look at this though. It puts us all to shame, I'd love to know more about the exposure details:
spaceweather.com/comets/holmes/09nov07/J...nm9mnsr1c32t6phgs3o6
The comet tonight looked truely remarkable in 15x70 binos. Didn't bother trying to photo because of winds and cloud though. Its getting bigger all the time and the mass of the outburst must now be occupying an area bigger than the sun. Truely a remarkable event, is there any news yet from Nasa on Hubble or Cassini data on this? :

I'm almost ashamed to say that I haven't seen in in the Dob for over a week now, just no opportune time when i was free.Dave,
Who said astronomy was a hobby, sometimes you have to work at it  . In the Dob is it not starting to blind you?
