Congrats to El Greco for todays APOD.

His wonderful shot of the Lunar Apogee and Perigee is featured today.

Congrats Anto!

Who'd bet against Anto for 'Knitting Pattern of the Week'? It's the only honour left he hasn't had!

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.

That image looks familiar... did APOD not have that from him before?

Reckon you might be on to somethin' there, Seanie. Most of Anto's pics look like they were robbed straight off Hubble!

Phil.

PS - Neat image - very cool demo. BTW, tonight(?) is the night of the largest moon! I was flying the hang glider at Killiney hill yesterday evening and had the most mind-blowingly beautiful site of the sun setting behind Three-Rock Mountain to the west of Dublin and the nearly full moon rising out of the sea through layers of purple haze before unrolling its silver carpet all the way across the sea to Killiney beach where I landed. Just incredible. Unfortunately my camera batteries died in the cold while I was flying!

Thanks Dave. Glad you like it ... I always try and pursue images which have a clear message and this particular work is a very good example.

Hhhmmm, I think I will pass ... even if I do win it, I will decline to accept.
