Hi
Finally got around to adding the RGB channels to the image of the ring nebula, the night before the comet :roll: (one late night in the week is all i can take). 40 subs each at 20 sec, stacked in DSS and then combined in IRIS. I also used the wavelet function in IRIS to bring out the detail in the ring. Hop u like

You're really getting the hang of this now Dave, nice work. Your brighter stars look a little superimposed, like they were dotted in with Paint or something though. (sorry!) I like the detail in the Ring.

a good image Dave, the stars are a little over done but the detail in the nebula is good, and thats what the image is about.

Thanks for the coments guys. Keep them coming as this is the only way one can learn.
Yes i was thinking myself that the stars were a bit overdone. This is due to the wavelets which while enhancing the detail in the ring also did things to the stars. I might try darkening to see what happens.
