Bright Comet Holmes Widefield was created by Keith g
Hi all, I just rattled off this shot of Comet Holmes and it's neighbours on Thursday night last really just to test out my new lens at it's widest setting. The sky was quite dark, with the milkyway easily visible at midnight. I've labelled the shot to show some of the brightest sights, the Andromeda galaxy came out very well
You can see that Holmes is bright, and has a blue tail pointing in the 5 o'clock position, the double cluster is also visible quite well. Lets hope it continues to be bright over the next few weeks.....this is what it was roughly like to the naked eye from my backgarden !
Keith..

Excellent shot Keith - what is your new lens? This shot has remarkable detail in the Milky Way - well done!
