I was looking at The Sky at Night mags online Mars tool and
starry night to see if I could work out the markings.
I'm baffeled!
Do any of you want to try and see can you work out the main features?

That's an excellent shot Frank, and yes, the ETX with its Maksutov optics and long focal length is a great scope for the planets and a great partner for a webcam.
I'm looking forward to having a go at Mars myself - I haven't imaged it for nearly two years now!

Nice shot. I should have taken a scope out last night but it's been so long since I last saw a proper clear sky that I just took my eyes and 10x50s out to a dark location. I was afraid it wouldn't last!

Frank you are getting just too good at this planetary imaging.
How did you find getting focus using the 5x powermate?
