Meade LPI was created by MOD
A couple of weeks ago I bought the Meade LPI (
www.telescopehouse.com
) and I am wondering what kind of Planetary images I could hope to get with my Meade LXD75 6" Newtonian which I got in Lidl at the start of November (no drive problems Thank God!!).
The weather has not allowed for to much use of either but I did get a few images of the moon the week before last ( I will try to attach here) and I couldn't figure out why they are in Black and White. I read somewhere that the moon is colourless but should it not appear to have "some" colour?
As I am still very new to this perhaps somebody could also tell me if it is O.K.(for quality) to use eyepieces (incuding 3 X Barlow) which came with a Meade ETX70 which I also got in Lid last year - by the way Lidl are doing this again next Monday the 10th.
Using the ETX70 I got to see Saturns rings (just about), but would anybody be able to tell me if I could hope to see Saturn much better with the LXD75 and LPI - looking forward to Saturn coming back into the "early" night sky in the new year.
Sorry can't see any easy way of getting my Moon pictures up.

Paul that looks fantastic - now really looking forward to Saturn comin back up and thanks very much for your reply.
Did you use anything (software) to enhance that or was it just a single click. Because of the not so good weather since I got my new LXD75, I have spent a lot of time on the internet (hence buying the LPI) than actualy using the scope. I have downloaded a few things mentioned on this site - Stellarium, which is amazing and Registax which I haven't got to use yet.
Also this might sound like a silly question but do you leave your LXD75 assembled and carry it outside or do you break it down after use and
rebuild it for use. My wife wants me to put it out in the garden shed (not a hope), but as regards storage is there anything like a protective case which would go around the upper/important bit when it is assembled. We have two kids, 7 and 9 (potentialy VERY DANGEROUS to telescopes).
