You can get pictures like that with a 5" , brilliant . Was there any light pollution when you were imaging or did you do it at a dark site.
I have a 6" scope and I can't even see features on Mars.

Simply fantastic Frank! Huge amount of detail.
Mars looked stunning last night through the dob before the transparency went to pot. My first glimpse of it this season & can't wait to get out again.

Hi Calibos,
The image thru the eyepiece was very good also.
Using a 15mm I could clearly see markings and the polar cap.
This was all down to the seeing on the night which was excellent.
I'm not sure why you only see a whit disk.
What kind and mag eyepieces are you using?
Philip, the ETX-125 is an F/15.
John, yeah the ETX-125 is a great little scope.
It's not an ideal scope for imaging but for now it'll do an amateur like me.
Fire away with the questions next time no probs.
Pioneer, yes there is some LP but not too bad.
The seeing was near perfect and that made all the difference.

Hi Frank,
That is an excellent shot! I was trying to image myself over the last few days, and with it being soooo windy I never got it perfect. Last night would have been ideal, conditions were perfect, I was just too tired to set everything up at 11:30PM when I got home. Hopefully tonight we'll have the same and Ill be able to.
You also mentioned earlier about a 5x barlow, did you get a chance to work with it yet? Im thinking of purchasing myself.
Cheers,
Gary
