Paul that is a fantastic image. It is great to know that the "Lidl special" is capable of something as beautiful as that.
Last night was perfect here in Maynooth also, and I got some images of Mars with my Meade LPI (just white discs really).
Your image is "light years" (in every sense) away from my Mars images but it gives me great hope for what is possible.

Well done again!!

Martin.

Lovely detail in the veil there Paul.
The colour looks very good.

So you recommend the RAW setting?
I've never used it before.
Does it hold up across the range of imaging eg from
starscapes to deep sky?

Frank, the RAW setting is like getting a better camera for no money - they usually look rubbish straight out of the camera but they contain more data than the jpegs and thus can be processd to give better results.

Never get tired of seeing shots of the Orion Nebula.... never!

I can't add anything to what's been said already Paul, except that there is a hint of tracking in the image. I know, trust me to come up with the negative! But hey, no one else said it! ;)

Oh one quick tip. Take many more frames that you actually need. e.g. if you took 30 shots you could pick out the 12 where the tracking was perfect and dump the rest. You can never take too many frames!
