Dearest friends ... and D.G.,

One of my favourite DSO's is the seven babes in Taurus with equally attractive names such as Electra, Maia, Merope etc.

As much as I would love to tackle this cluster and reflection nebula with my AP160, I resorted to using my Tak FSQ and its more generous wide field.

For a result based on four hours total exposure from a couple of days ago, I kindly direct you to www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-M45.htm .

I am planning to pick up the new version of the SBIG ST-11000XM when it comes out early next year and I suspect that M45 will be my first target.

I hope you like the result.

El-Greco. That is one phenomenal image. Not bad for a scarf knitting dude.

The definition in the nebulosity is breathtaking.

Hats off to a faultless image.

Regards and Clear Skies,

Dave.

Hi Dave,

Glad you like the photo. The total exposure time is the minimum I would consider reasonable for this stunning gem and I sincerely hope for a second visit with greater total exposure time (ex. six hours).

Not bad for a scarf knitting dude.

Hey, don't knock my second hobby.

The definition in the nebulosity is breathtaking.

I do confess that I like the detail and structure captured by the four-inch scope. I am most eager to see what my beloved and cherished AP160 can do.

Hats off to a faultless image.

Your approval is appreciated!
