Cat's Eye Nebula NGC 6543 was created by eansbro
I processed this image the other night. It came out pretty well. The sky transparency was good.

This is one of the most fascinating and complex planetary nebulae.
The two stars have thrown out spheres of gas at each other at the end of there lives and at the same time they are also orbiting each other.
If you turn your head side ways and look at the nebula, you can see a better perspective of the rim of the eye around the eyeball.
The image was taken on 5 January 2008
using the 0.9m Wynne Newt.at f/4+ AP8p CCD
B,V,R 10x 30 secs each filter.
