Christmas Tree Cluster was created by wellbuttie
The Christmas Tree Cluster (also known as Open Cluster NGC 2264 or the Xmas Tree Cluster). The cluster is located about 2,600 light-years away from Earth. Taken with an unmodded Canon 350D, Sigma 170-500mm lens at 500mm, F5.6 ISO1600. Location: Cherrymount, Waterford

Wow! Some colours there Steve, even though it's a month late it's still a great shot ! I was looking at this area the other night in binoculars, but it is very hard to see the neblosity, you brought it out well !!

Thanks Keith, Tis a very faint area alright...... This was a stack of 24 Shots at 120 seconds. I would have gotten a few more only for a bit of focus shift in the lens after the Meridian Flip.... :roll:
