Some decent gaps in the clouds this evening so I took the opportunity to take a couple of widefield shots with the new camera - these are 15 secs undriven at 16mm f3.5 ISO 3200.
Lots of detail despite the LP! These are differently processed as I experiment with Sony's RAW conversion - the Adobe one doesn't seem to work well yet.

Thanks guys - the Sony A700 goes to ISO 6400 and that is maybe a stop too far but it picks up loads of detail at 3200 as you see. The 16-105 lens is sharp too though wide open at 16mm you can see the corners darken - the reviews mention this feature of the lens - stopped down or at longer focal lengths it doesn't do this.
Really though, it was just nice to se the stars again!
