Orion AutoGuider was created by woodwizard
I received the new Orion AutoGuider today after being on backorder status since the first week in Dec.
Of course is now cloudy.
Unit is very compact and software installed with no troubles on Windows XP. The Guider uses PHD for guiding software, or can be used with Maxim DL.
As soon as the skies clear, will give a better review.

Tom,

You may already know this but the Orion Autoguider is actually a CCD-Labs Q-Guider. I've had one of these for a while now. They are a truly exceptional piece of kit. One thing though. Be sure you have the VERY latest drivers, don't just assume the latest drivers came with the camera. The release befor last has a bug which causes it not to work correctly with Maxim.

The latest drivers can be found at www.astrosoft.be

You will be able to get an unlock key from Orion.

You won;t be sorry it is an excellent autoguider.

Thanks for the heads up Dave of the drivers. I plan on using with the packaged PHD software. All seems to work fine in the house. Now for some clear skies.

Tom,

Yep should be no problems with PHD. If you do have any problems with this camera post em here as I have a lot of experience with this camera and also have had some input at the beta testing stage of the drivers.
