I had attempted Saturn a number of times in the 4" refractor but I could never get any detail. It was always so small in the frame, and there was never much detail resolved. The increase in resolution with the 8" is very apparent, and that was on quite a poor seeing night.

Great shot of Saturn John, really good work despite conditions. Best of luck with the new scope. Would there be any chance of targeting the Moon with your setup, I would be interested in seeing the results.
How many frames (what frame rate) did you use John for the final image of Saturn, did you use Registax to process image?
