Dave and Frank,
A fantastic image lads. You should be able to use a X5 barlow that should still retain the detail that you have in the original one.
The image at this magnification has good resolution you could probably yield more detail with the higher amplification.

Hi Eamonn.
We did initially try a 5X first.
But because of the nature of the scope & the camera
the 5X can realistically be only used under excellent seeing conditions.
Although we hit pockets of steady air the 3X was the
best choice on the night.
It's funny,
the trip down there was for an observing session.
I only brought the laptop along for Starry Night
but the seeing was so good we decided to give imaging Saturn a go.
I'm glad we did!
I'm also thinking now we should of at least
recorded a few min of Mars just for the hell of it.
(though it was very unsteady in the eyepiece, who knows what
a fast frame rate and some good luck might of brought)
But who wants to be blinded by a laptop screen when
your under Mag 7 skies!

yea, I cant explain it, Saturn was pretty good and Mars looked like we were looking at it from the bottom of a swimming pool.I'm also thinking now we should of at least
recorded a few min of Mars just for the hell of it.
