Pleiades on a poor night was created by JohnMurphy
Got out for a brief period tonight and had a go at the Pleiades again. Very poor seeing and transparency meant that I only got 12 stackable shots at 30sec ISO200. 350D at prime focus on a Celestron C8N-GT. Not sure if the nebulosity is due more to the cloudy atmosphere or what. However what you see is whats on camera.

Hey Jonh nice shot you certainly captured a lot of nebula this time round compared to the last time. We're running out of darkness for the Pleiades this year so well done.

excellent shot John. Is that nebulosity or moisture in the atmosphere?

I think its more to do with the poxy atmosphere I was shooting through. The blue light from the pleiades stars that also illuminate the nebula and give them their colour looks like it is being diffracted by the moisture and thin cloud I was shooting through. Some of it may be nebulous but most I think is due to scattering by moisture in the atmosphere.
