Post-processing... was created by James Butler
I am interested to know which software packages people use for post-processing. Having used Paint Shop Pro for years I will stick with what I know rather than using the more commonly used Photoshop.
I have just been messing around with histograms on one of the photos I took last Wednesday. For those who use PSP I will put up some tutorial pages on my website as most websites concentrate on PS.

The GIMP - it's a lot like Photoshop, and it's free, though you have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work in Windows. One of the DVDs that came with a recent computer magazine I got had it on it.I am interested to know which software packages people use for post-processing.

James,
Photoshop has a section on levels which is very usefull in removing glow, does PSP have this?
Unsharp mask and gaussian blur are also good for planets.

Paint Shop Pro has the same functionality only cheaper.
Take a look at the photos at the bottom of

to see the similarity.
