Looks like the noise is reduced and the amp glow on the right hand side of the frame is gone as well.

Yea, and the fact it has the dust removal feature on the chip, this makes it ALOT easier to keep the chip clean - especially important with astrophotography where the chip can be exposed to dust alot more.

It's amazing how the price of DSLRs has dropped over time.
Body only, the 450d is selling for approx 520euro in the US and I've seen it selling for 650euro in the UK. That's ALOT less than what I paid for my 300d, which has since passed away. :(
