Shots from the Burren was created by Frank Ryan
Well I finally made it down to the Burren last night.
All I can say is,
I have no clue as to why I never went before!
It's only 40 min from my house and the skies?
Forget about it!
Best I've seen.
So anyway,
I ran off a few starscape shots with the Dolmen in the foreground.
(here is a speal about the thing)
Poulnabrone dolmen (Poll na mBrón in Irish meaning "hole of sorrows")
is a Neolithic period portal tomb which dates back to about 2500 BC. Situated in the Burren, Co. Clare.
A thin capstone sits on two 1.8m (6ft) high portal stones to create a chamber in a 9m (30ft) low cairn.
The tomb houses the remains of one newborn baby, six juveniles, and 16-22 adults.
There are 40 smaller such dolmens in the area. This is the most well known dolmen in Ireland.
Comments, crits, suggestions welcome.

Fab shots Frank. After passing by a few dolmens in the burren a few years ago, I've always been meaning to go back some clear frosty night and take some images, but never got around to it. Great to see you took the time and framed them so well. I particularlay like the first one.

The second one is gorgeous, but probably tone down the dolmen just ever so slightly.

Those are fabulous shots, all three Frank - very nice work indeed and a great location. I wish I could find somewhere that good near me.
