2% Moon and Planet Mercury was created by Keith g
Hi all, the good weather has been kind enough to give some clear skies tonight with the 2% sunlit Moon only about two degrees away from the planet Mercury this evening. It was a lovely sight in binoculars!

Here is a shot I got,
Details: Canon 400D, 200mm L lens at f4.5, ISO200, 5 seconds exposure.

That is just a really really nice image. Congrats.

I'm glad some of you are having relatively clear skies. I checked about an hour ago and couldnt see much more then clouds...............had a spectacular sunset though. The sun was huge and fire orange.............with a thin whisp of cloud across its "equator".

Really nice image, much nicer than mine! See www.irishastronomy.org/boards/viewtopic....ighlight=&#67703

I unfortunately left it too late to head out and suffered from too much ISO noise.

Details: Canon 400D, 6 seconds @ f5.6, 105 mm, ISO 800.
