Prefect focus, exposure and tracking, !!
This is a very difficult combination to achieve, give satellite imaging a try and you'll truly appreciate that video.

That beats any effort I have ever seen. Conditions must have been bang on even with really good gear. Sometimes though the sky gods smile down on us and deliver perfection.

So have a go with the celestron and then conclude.Sure you will see a lot of detail and lots of pretty colours as well.

Not with MY refractor Dogstar! (Just because it's not an apo doesn't mean it's rubbish. If i step it down to 5 inches it is a de-facto apo incidentally.)

Tried an experiment last night and it worked. Made out the asymmetric shape of the ISS vaguely in 10 x 50 binocs (cheap pair)on a tripod.
The ISS really is enormous.

This is one incredible result! I have searched the Internet and found the gentleman's website but no details are given in relation to image acquisition.

The tracking over the multi-minute was perfect which suggests some sort of automated tracking on the ISS itself.

I sent him an email last week,
still no reply.
I'd say he's using some sort of missile lock technology!

Hi Frank,

I suspect he has been flooded with emails ... hopefully he is the type of person who does not mind sharing information and tips.

I am convinced he implemented some sort of automated guiding for the ISS itself.
