Hi Eamonn,
Thanks for the kind and encouraging words. I must confess that I have developed a serious interest and bias in these exoplanet transits and which now are taking up a lot of my time and thoughts (in a positive manner of course).
I really like your comment about the Uranian mutual events and the potential for photometric work. Any idea what kind of drop in magnitude we may experience during a transit by one of these satellites? Given the proximity of some of these satellites to Uranus, I also like your idea about the two satellites going behind the parent planet which may (?) yield a slight dimming.
Anyway, a huge thanks surrounding this wonderful idea surrounding Uranus and its moons ... more food for thought!!!!!
By the way, TA has asked for an article on my exoplanet work.

Eamonn, may I guess the 12th August 1E5T event (Miranda totally eclipsed by Ariel's shadow)? Is that so?mutual occultations of some of the moons of Uranus.

Hi Anthony and Vagelis,
Predictions for the eclipses of the Uranian moons by
Uranus itself. This is in relation to about obtaining millimagnitude-level R-band photometry of Uranus as a means to detect the signature of its satellites moving in out of eclipse (or occultation). These particular events have the even rarer occultation by the shadow of Uranus on the moons.
The two brightest satellites Ariel and Titania (and possibly Oberon) as these will give the largest "dip" in the photometry. Here are some example predictions to give you an idea of the timescales of these events:
Titania (R=13.4) Ingress Start (UT) Ingress End (UT)
2008 JUN 07 02:29:17 02:39:23
Ariel (R=13.7)
2008 JUN 30 00:34:12 00:38:10
Uranus' R-band mag is 5.9
Titania events may last for about 10 min and Ariel events for 4.

Eamonn,
Your description of the challenge and opportunity above is in accordance with my understanding and wishes. I am not very keen on the mutual events between the satellites themselves since they are too brief in duration and too dim for good S/N.
In contrast, the events between the planet and the moons is perfect. However, we in Greece have a problem with the first event (June 7th) due to the time (we are at UT+3) and it is most unfortunate since it is only a few days from now and on a good day in relation to the moon (ie. its absence).
The second date you provide looks much more doable ... please count me in 100.00%!

Good Luck, Anthony and Eamonn with
pds-rings.seti.org/work/viewer_ura_29188.jpg
I am really very glad that you will try Uranus!!!
I remember, it was a tremendous feeling when I first imaged Uranus on CCD, and realize that I was actually viewing the plane of its ring/satellites/axis of rotation/ being almost perpenticular to the ecliptic.
I am GO for 1E5T pds-rings.seti.org/work/viewer_ura_25024.jpg
This mutual event is relatively deep (15%) and long (25 min).
