Love 'em or not give a hoot about 'em...they are back.

This is the first NLC display (I've seen) this summer.
They became noticeable in the North around 12:20AM lasting for around a half an hour as the sun 'set'.
At around 2AM another display became visible in the North East as the Sun crept back up and lasted until about 3AM.

Well captured there Frank !
The oval noctalucent cloud on the left was certainly very cool, it almost looked like an polar aurora glow, it was directly north. Both were not bright, but still easily visible.
The second NLC was bigger and brighter, very nice.
These were right on the horizon, the observing site is on a good steep hill.

Nice one Frank, I missed that, I think I must have fallen asleep by then - it's been that sort of week!

As you know, I'm a bit of fan of these displays - not everybody's cup of tea but there you go.

Tonight looks good weatherwise!

Stunning. I'm hoping to catch some over the next few nights, weeks.

I'm thinking you need a fairly good view towards the horizon to catch them though?

Last night just after sunset the sky to the W-NW appeared to be a greenish colour but was by no means "glowing". Could this have been NLC?
