Hi all
Does any one use a web/ccd cam to aid drift alignment? If so what software etc do you use and does it work well?
Thanks in advance

Hi Calchas,
I used to use a webcam for it but then just started using a reticle EP as I could see dimmer stars with it. I don't bother any more as my mount has terrible PE and I autoguide anyway. If you do it with a camera here is an excellent piece of software that's well worth the registration fee of 30 bucks or so. wcs.ruthner.at/index-en.php
The following is the best article I ever found on drift alignment & includes a simulator to practice on.
