Hi guys,

This is a very recent image of M51. This was a long exposure to see what further detail may manifest. Interstellar dust is more pronounced within the smaller galaxy.

Hi Eamonn

The amount of detail in the spiral arms is incredible

Superb image Eamonn - I would say that that's better than something like Mt Palomar could have got as recently as 20 or maybe even 10 years ago!

Fab detail and resolution!!
Pity the cores of the glaxies are burnt out.
Are they cores burnt out in the raw images?
How are you combining your images?

Eamonn, thanks for sharing that photo, the detail is superb within the arms! A burned out core, but hey what are you to do?
