Thanks everyone for the kind words. I am delighted to learn you approve of the result.
At the risk of stating the obvious, there will be another similar trip but this time involving the moon.

Anto.
Those are superb shots as usual.
I can appreciate the planning involved in this kind of work.
Now a side by side sun & moon shot would be fab!

It was a wonderful "strike&go" excursion !
(calculating the azimuth in the chase of the proper shooting position)
You may see some more pics on action here & here
Anthony is holding his Tak FSQ ...heavy weapon !
As you understand, a whole photo team has been on the island of Naxos that day !
==========
Anyway, let me present to you my work too.
(Click on the photo to watch the animation)
CANON EOS300D, Lens180mm - f/16, exp.1/2500 - ISO100, 55 frames (~4,8Μb)
This animation of 55 frames was created in order to capture some of the intense atmosphere on the island created by the setting sun. A few people were on the small rock, where the temple is built and their silhouettes seem to play an unexpected role in enriching this wonderful event. What is of interest is the apparent "melting" and thinning of the temple's columns, while the Sun is passing behind them and which can be attributed to diffraction.

Congratulations on your great shots fellows!
The animation is amazing John!
But a live sunset in Portara is something else :shock:
