GLOBULAR CLUSTER M 92 in Lavender was created by eansbro
Hi guys,

This image was taken over two weeks ago and recently processed.

Image of Globular Cluster M92 + Lavender enhancement. This was an experimental image using different filters to enhance a lot more detail for the eye. The result is that the stars are more pronounced at the central core.

webtreatz.com/component/option,com_zoom/...geNo,3/key,24/hit,1/

This image was initially processed using DDP Digital Development via Maxim/DL in order to display the the very dim and very bright details of the image simultaneously.

Taken on 18th June 2008
Using 0.9m Wynne Newt. at f/4
plus AP8p CCD
Exposures: Photometric BVR 20 x 75 secs converted to greyscale.
Processed with lavender filter enhancement with MIRA PRO 7.5

The lavender filter enhancement really works on
bringing out core detail Eamonn which you have managed
to do exactly. A sucessful experiment by the looks off things :D.
If you ever get a chance to do a little more processing
i would love to see the image in a more accurate colour
representation :P

oh wise man why is the universe so perfect?ah because symmetry loves herself.

Eamonn,

This is an exceptional result with a serious amount of detail. Globulars are very difficult to get just right but you nailed this one!

Thanks for the meaningful responses.

I will look at the colour representation again. The original images were taken in B, V and R filters in the photometric system. These particular filters are slightly narrower than transmission bands of the RGB with less light being transmitted. The BVR are excellent filters for yielding true colour in specific emissions that this target shows at its best. RGB only shows colour which is not scientifically useful.
