I like this.
Good framing and a sense of scale makes for
a better understanding of the scene.
When you say the church is a pyramid and on an
elevation, could you try putting Polaris just over the
cross on the spire and then get as much of the sky above that
in the frame...?
I reckon that'd make a beauty of a shot!
As for where the church is positioned...
One of the biggest problems I see for budding
wide field astrophotogrophers is working out
(usually in the daytime) the best positions for the
night shot.
Something the deep sky imager never had to deal with.

I'll see what I can do with the church next chance I get. Passed it over the other night to try and get some over the lake instead. Weren't enough stars that low down though, plus I might have started a little too early and bright, so ended up with the above pic instead.
