M27 re-visited was created by JohnMurphy
Saturday night was quite poor seeing wise. A thin layer of wispy cloud reflected back all the light pollution. I gave up on trying to photograph Andromeda in the East, and my Northern sky was just totally orange. In the end I had to resort to the only piece of reasonably semi-transparent sky to my South. I took a total of 40 x 30sec exposures at ISO400, and used 32 to get the following result. The unmodified Canon 350D drops most of the Ha, so there is very little red in M27 - pity.
Canon 350D & C8N-GT 16min total exposure ISO400
Deep Sky Stacker, Iris and Photoshop.

The image above will not display in the post, the bbcode looks correct - don't know whats going on - are images now not allowed? Pictures on previous posts also seem to have disappeared. Is this something to do with the server outage? Mods?

Was going to ask the same thing. Offsite images aren't displaying. The code is still in the post but nothing displays. Even when you use this sites image upload service, same thing. Code visible when you click 'edit' post but no image displaying.
BTW, lovely image there John. I love the way imaging shows up the 'Bubble' where its invisible leaving only the dumbell part visible visually. Its like a whole new object.

The link works fine for me guys.
Nice image John, you managed to capture the dumbbell shape beautifully and the solid arc to the right.

The text link works for me too. John edited the post to just a text link after the img bbcode would not display the image within the post.
As an update though, I just found that the thumbnail image links from imageshack work (Thumbnail for forums (2)) None of their other format links work in this site now though.
EG.
