Friday night wasn't too bad weather wise, so I tried for more data on M27 again. The following shot is a total of 25 mins exposure. This is the best I can do with my current equipment unless I modify my only camera - 350D, which I love and don't want to mess up the white balance with a costly mod, then again either that or sod all Hydrogen Alpha. What to do???? Try to persuade 'er indoors that cash needs to be spent on a new camera and a mod for the 350D, it's gonna cost...............(and not just cash).

Thats a good image there John, very representative of what you might see in the eyepiece.

Hi John,
Well done on a very good image. One tip I can offer is try-using Curves in Photoshop it will brighten up the image then do a levels to darken the background. Then go to filter-noise –reduce noise. There is loads more detail you can get from that image. Let me know how you get on.
Work on the TIFF in PS not on the JPEG.
Carl.

John,
I agree with Carl. You have the basic foundation for significantly improving the image by what Carl has described. The important thing is that you have a very good image to start with.
Well done!
