Moon Montage with Megrez 72 21-09-08 was created by james335k
Hi everyone. This is my first effort of creating a montage of the Moon with my Megrez 72. The image is a composite of three images taken with the Megrez and a DMK21AU04.AS mono camera. Hope you like.

Real nice.
You joined the images together seamlessly, no lines, did you crop the image after you merged the 3 together ?
That camera does a good job on the moon.
Makes me wanna go out and get some images of the moon, something I haven't done in a long time, besides when its infront of the Sun :silly:

Picture perfect James, you wouldn't even have guessed it was a montage. Are you sure you're not just lying about that to us to make you look reallly good? :silly: It is a tad darker in my opinion that what a Gibbous phase should be. Did you play around with the brightness/contrats levels at all?

Hey Calibos, The image was created using adobe photoshop's photo stitch function but as far as i'm aware there are some free programs out there that allow you to create montage's for free. If you need any advice don't hesitate to contact me.

Hi Dave, I know what you mean! With a lack of quality views of late i lept at the opportunity to get some moon images. I'm very happy with the DMK camera overall. It's excellent on Solar System objects. The image was only cropped round the edge and some of the blank areas were filled in using the clone tool.
