None other than the troublesom Meade LXD 75, I've had sooo much problems with this scope since i got it. I've just recieved a new mount from Meade though and hopefully i will be doing alot more astro-imaging.

Hi John D,
I'm on my second Nikon DSLRs and with both of them I need a 40mm extension tube in addition to the t-adaptor with whichever telescope I use. To get prime focus to work on that scope you need an extension tube that has a male T-thread at one end and a female t-thread at the other so that you can attach it to the T-adaptor provided.
An extension tube would also be needed for eyepiece projection; however I find that far too ungainly with a DSLR. If I want greater magnification I prefer to use a Coolpix P5000 compact camera with a UR-E20 adaptor ring, which I attach to an eyepiece that has either a 28mm male thread or has another thread that can be matched to an adaptor that steps down to 28mm. Suitable eyepieces include Hyperions and TMB Planetaries. I have 3 old Scopetronix MaxViews, which give me a range of options with different scopes and targets, and a set of 8 Hyperions - but I collected those for their visual quality rather than their adaptability.
When I bought the Scopetronix eyepieces I had a Coolpix 4300, which had a different adaptor ring. I continued to use it until the P5000 came out because the majority of compact cameras don't have threads that allow them to be mounted directly, which is more stable and secure than a framework type adaptor.
I hope this helps and the weather improves in time to try out whatever route you choose.
