Hi all
After overcoming the problem of dew forming on the CCD chip and figuring out how to replace the desicant, (thanks to John Murphy for his help on this:) )I ventured out on Thursday to take my first image from Raheny.
Its of my favourite galaxy NGC6946 this time in colour.
L30x45sec, RGB10x45sec
About 10,000,000 light years away and 40,000 ly across.
A giant star forming region said to be the equivalent of our orion nebula appears on the end of one of the spiral arms.

Dave Thats a really good shot. You captured some starforming regions there. The fireworks galaxy is not an easy target. Thats is much better than the M81 shot. Why not give M81 the same treatment? Looks like there might be some clear skies over the next few nights.
Well Done young Jedi.
