M31 was created by JohnMurphy
The following is my first real attempt at M31. Sorry about the poor processing - M31 really is a killer to bring out the detail, I probably was not helped by the light polluted Dublin sky. Data taken on 28/29 November shortly after Nova M31N 2008-11b went bang, it is just barely visible in the image if you know where to look. Canon 350D and Sigma 70-300mm APO DG lens piggybacked on my C8N-GT, approx 45 mins total exposure.

Thats beautiful John. Such a rich starfield it resides in too...well rich when you have 45mins of exposures anyway!
