Saturn and some of its Moons at approx 22.45 on the 4th of April. Luminosity channel; best 1400 out of 10,000, RGB best 900 out of 4000. DMK camera, CGE11 inch SCT Telescope. The moons became faintly evident in the Luminosity channel, so experimenting with curves in Photoshop, helped bring them out more

I used Starry Night to identify which was which :-)

Taken from Cherrymount, Waterford.

Thanks for looking

Steve

Very nice Steve! Well done!
Nice to get the planet and all those moons in the same frame.

Cool shot!
It looks 3D.
Very hard to get the exposure / processing right to show Saturn's detail well
with the moons also.

Hi Steve, Love the detail on the globe. Great contrast to show the banding very well. Great catch!

While looking at Saturn last weekend, I witnessed the interesting "Triad" formation of Dione, Rhea and Tethys, on the edge of Saturns Rings. Set up the camera to capture this formation, and little did I know that Enceladus was hiding in between :-), with Titan on the far left. Imaged using a DMK Camera, Baader visual RGB Filters and a CGE 11 inch SCT, from Cherrymount, Waterford, Ireland.

Just wondering, as I am using the Baader visual filters for the Red, Green and Blue channels, would using the Astronomik CCD RGB filters make a big difference during image capture? i.e. Would they be worth the extra expenditure?

Thanks for looking
