Hi Mark,
First and foremost thanks for the spreadsheet and the interesting analysis you performed.
Surrounding the prediction of the transits, the original paper from the discovery team defines the julian date of their results and which in conjunction with the orbital period allows us to generate future predictions. Since we also know the transit duration from the original paper, we have predictions for ingress, mid-transit and egress.
I have a spreadsheet from Bruce Gary's website and which I have customized and expanded for my personal use in relation to transit predictions.
It is a good idea to start an hour before predicted ingress and continue an hour post egress so as to establish a good baseline for the purposes of calculating the transit depth and to also account for small errors in the predicted ingress and egress due to orbital anomalies etc.
Regarding HAT-P-12b, I lost 20 minutes at the start of my session due to clouds and, as a result, my pre-ingress is only 43 minutes.
Anthony.

Hi Eamonn,
Thanks for the kind words.
Please let me know when you have dual-band results, for it sounds quite interesting to see what differences show up. One possibility is to pursue the two exoplanets for which water vapour has already been detected and confirmed.
Anthony.
