Hi All,
I was going through my lunar images today when I came across 2 images I completely forgot about.
I took them using the club newly acquired 10" LX3 and my N95 phone during the clubs April public IYA event in Limerick.

Make sure to click on this link and click on the image to zoom in.
The right side of the moon is over exposed but all the interesting stuff is there on the terminator, this is a single frame with minimal photoshop processing.
The above image was taken at the highest resolution of the phone so I was able to zoom in and crop the image in photoshop

I was amazed at how well these images came out. I held the phone up to a 40mm eyepiece and let it do the autoexposure. there was a definite sweet spot for the lens, so I had to position the moon and camera properly to get it all as evenly illuminated as possible.
It probabily helps that the optics on this SCT are some of the best I've ever seen in a SCT, even more surprising given that the scope is 25 years old.
Any of you with camera phones, its worth giving it a go.

Holy cow!
A camera phone up to the eyepiece eh!?
That's some result.
The optics on this scope are still razor sharp
for it's age.

And it wasn't even my idea. I scoffed at the very idea when I saw my brother with his camera phone holding it up to the eyepiece when I had my back turned. It was only when I saw the moon on the phones screen that I thought....."Hold on a minute!!"
Had lots of people trying it with their camera phones at the Solo 100hours Sidewalk event I did in April. I think a few of them got worthwhile pics/souvenirs of the night:D

Yea, a number of people did get pics with their phones through the scopes, they were very susrpised what they got, like you say it makes for a nice momento.
