B143 - Barnard Dark Nebula in Aql was created by ayiomamitis
Dear group,
With approximately three hours of available darkness between the end of astro twilight and the rising third-quarter moon last night, I set my sights on an item which has been outstanding for some time, namely B143 in Aquila and which represents one-half of the well-known "E" nebula in Aquila.
This particular dark nebula is quite intense, for the contrast due to the intervening dust clouds is quite impressive. B143 is squarish in shape and with the west side missing. It has an apparent diameter of approximately 0.5 degrees.
For the LRGB result (60:30:30:30) from last night (with variable seeing), I kindly direct you to www.perseus.gr/Astro-DSO-Nebulae-Dark-B143.htm .
I also took a sample image of B142, the second half of the "E" nebula lying just south of B143, and I hope to have a formal result this weekend.
Clear skies!
Anthony.

I really like it since it's in my favorite part of the sky BUT Anto are you getting lazy . What happened to 60:60:60:60? I assume you're getting some of our lovely weather aswell.

My limiting factor (60:30:30:30) was the rising third-quarter moon or, otherwise, I would have gone my usual route of 60:60:60:60.
However, I will sit down and reprocess this one since I think I used the wrong RGB result for layering with my master luminance, namely my non-stretched RGB intermediate result. This is what you get when you are working with fatigue (I spent an all-nighter getting fresh master dark frames).
Dave, thanks for the kind words .....
