eclipse video was created by nectarine
I've just sussed out how to upload a video onto Youtube (been trying for 2 weeks.....) Anyway, it's there now if anyone wants to have a look:
http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu6fLBiuSk0
The camera was looking out to the horizon and about 4 mins in to totality, I picked it up and scanned round a bit.
Clear skies (if only....)

Hi Bernie
Great video, I really enjoyed it, wish I was there for that wonderful event.

Can you share your knowledge on how the video was placed on YouTube, its something I thought of regarding videos of meteors taken from Ireland but did not get around to actually uploading them and figuring out how too.

Well, you have to have a Youtube account and I went to my home page where you can click on 'upload' on the right hand side of the page and it gives you instructions from there. However, I tried several times before having any success and even then, it took over 2 and a half hours to upload which wasn't the best seeing as I have to use the pc at work.

Yes Dave, we passed Iwo Jima on the morning of the eclipse. I have all the co-ordinates, altitude of the eclipse and even the speed of ship at home but won't be in the office again till next Tuesday so will post them here then if you like.

Further to my last post, the exact location of the eclipse was:
25 15' 6.6" North
142 4' 14.1" East
Altitude of the sun was 83 degrees while the Azimuth was 144 degrees.
Path width of the eclipse was 258km and the veloctiy was 2,336km per hour (1,472 mph)
First contact was 10:02 local time (01.02 UTC)
Second contact 11.25:46 (02.25:46 UTC)
Third contact 11.32:29 (02.32:29)
Fourth contact 12.53 (03.53 UTC)

Wish we could do it all over again :)
