Hi All,
I sent an email last night to DSLR Focus to see if he had a Vista version and this is the reply:
"I have a version thats works on vista thats about 80% complete. I am strugglign to finish all the test. Expect it to be ready in about 4 months"
I was just wondering if there is anything else that is Vista compatable or completely manual to help focus a Canon Rebel XT (350D) better on stars?

I have written a small java utility, I use it with my Canon 400D. It runs perfectly well on Vista, XP and probably many other O/S.
Here is how it works:
Connect the camera to PC using the EOS utility remote shooting
take one image best focus by eye (jpg)
Start the app
Select a dir where the image is being stored, the app allways shows the latest image in this dir. It shows it pixel for pixel not scaled.
centre a star
now itterate:
change focus
take another image (the offsets you made to centre the first image are still used)
repeat until happy with focus.
I find this allows me to rapidly change and accuratly access focus.
If you would like a copy of this let me know and I'll pass it over with instructions for java etc if required (they are simple).
regards
Steve
