Hi,

The below images of the Moon were the subject of an experiment to see what level of detail could be observed with an 8" Meade and inexpensive Philips SPC900NC webcam in full daylight.

The Sun was 12 degrees in altitude, the sky was cloudless, and the Sun was casting very strong shadows. It was also noted that the stability of the air (atmospheric seeing) was very good.

A combination of #25 (red) and #21 (orange) filters were used to reduce the affects of the now bright blue sky.

Each image was made from a 200-frame movie captured with HandyAVI. The separate frames were then stacked and wavelet processed in Registax5. Finally, the images were adjusted for brightness and contrast using Photoshop Elements.
