I've never really been particuarly successful at imaging.
Jupiter has never been a success yet I did at least capture the Anthony Wesley strike.

I got muself a Televue 5x power mate (my old barlow is of suspect quality), ensured that I was collimated - used a Bahtinov mask to prefocus on a star. Aided by good seeing on the night - I captured the GRS and a moon (Io) post transit and its shadow.
I had only been attempting to capture better resolution as an exercise and was lucky to being doing it for a moon transit event and a GRS showing.
I saw the shadow and waited for the moon to emerge - I'm quite chuffed.

Not up the best that this forum delivers but I'm chuffed. I can actually capture material that justifies trying to master the post-processing software.

Hi Mark,

Now that is very good, well done on the power mate. The detail in the image is great try upping the saturation a small bit and lowering the contrast. You are on the way to becoming a very good planetary imager all the ground work is in there well done.

Mark - that's a nice capture and certainly you *should* be rightly chuffed.

Which is quite comforting really - we're getting tired of all those images from that O'Beirnes bucko... ;)

Keep them coming!

That's a fine image, especially when you consider how low Jupiter is at the moment.
Good work.

Thats a great image Mark, the moon shadow and GRS show was a super show that night,
I was also out with the toucam, if I ever get time to process the images I'll put them up.
