ISS Saturday 12th of Sept

Its not a great image, however, my first attempt to try to capture the International Space Station with my telescope. Imaged using a DMK Camera, attached to a CGE 11 inch SCT, complete with an F6.3 focal reducer (Focal Length 1764mm). I had to manually guide the scope through the finderscope, and captured the Station in about 10 frames........ Got to practice more!!

That is still a very good first attempt all the same Steve, nie work! Visually, was it even close to this in your scope?

I was trying to track it through the viewfinder on the scope so the first views were when I checked the video in the hope that it appeared on some of the frames. The view would have been comparible to a 10mm eyepiece alright.

At least its some sort of recognizable shape, I've tried manually tracking the ISS with the obsessionator and its damn hard!
We found that if you track it using a telrad, it's lot easier then using a 8x50 finder as the finder has the image upside down.
You're under pressure tracking that thing, you 're under the clock and don't have time to think, it goes fast so it's alot easier to keep centered if the image is not inverted.

Well done she is one hard bird to image but you got it, great detail. I was looking at an image an astronomer got off the ISS a few weeks ago and in the image you could see an astronaut out on a space walk. It was Ralf Vandebergh who got the image I must dig it out for ya,

Imaging the ISS is really a tough nut to crack
But great fun all the same.
You say you got about 10 frames.
Were the close together?
If so try stacking them in Registax.
I did this before and it really helps bring out the
Detail much like planetary imaging.
