Well I got some shots of the sky in the window of opportunity between the end of twilight and moonrise. Saw a superb fireball just as I was going out, mag -1 travelled across from Ursa Major towards Capella - this was 1815 UT - no photo sadly.
Saw half a dozen meteors from Ballygally Beach - two photographed, see below. The glow over the sea where the Moon would rise an hour later was quite uncanny!
The meteor is to the left of Perseus, there are also two sat trails to the right.
Paul.

Nicely done!
I think people underestimate just how difficult it
is to capture a meteor.
For one session you did well!
That place looks great BTW.

Well done Paul, I have yet to capture a meteor 'on film'. The camera has seen them, but they never come ou on the shot for me! What magnitude would you guess the ones you got here are?

This is so difficult to judge Seanie, not least because i'm not sure that I saw the meteors caught on camera visually. However, they are probably not that bright, I'd guess at 3rd or 4th mag. With a fireball it's much easier to estimate as you can get a mental snapshot which you can immediately compare with neighbouring stars.
Thanks Frank, yes it's not so easy and luck comes into it - I saw many more Geminids than Quadrantids, yet caught none despite having taken 10x as many shots!
