DSI software was created by John Hartigan
Hi
I was reading a reply by 'James Butler' to some astrophotography questions and i saw that you can use the DSI software with the LPI, i was just wondering does this allow a longer shutter speed, (i think the LPI is only about 15sec max, or at least thats all i could manage), and just how much better is it at stacking, focusing etc. than the LPI software??

Replied by James Butler on topic Re: DSI software
Just had a look at both the original LPI software and the DSI software I downloaded from Meade.
"Expose" is 16 for LPI and 15 for DSI.
They are essentially the same programs but the DSI is updated in some respects. Most LPI users have downloaded the DSI software and are now using this instead of the original. I don't know if the results are better as so far I have stuck to my DSLR and may only ever use the LPI as an auto-guider... when I get round to it... or as a means of displaying images live to groups of people.
