I hope I am not boring you all as I get used to the newly acquired Solar Scope. Big Learning curves to overcome... but thats the fun of it
This is my latest attempt.
The Sun on Sunday the 21st of March.
Full Disk:
Surface: A combination of 4 images stitched together in AutoPano Pro. Each of these images was the result of Stacking the best 1000 frames from 3000 taken per section. Exposed to reveal the Surface detail on the Sun.
Proms: A combination of 4 images stitched together in Adobe Photoshop (for some reason Autopano has major problems trying to generate a panorama with these ones). Each of these images was the result of Stacking the best 1000 frames from 3000 taken per section. Exposed to reveal the Prominence Detail on the rim.
Active Region AR1056
A Stack of the best 1000 frames from 4000, taken using an Orion Shorty 2X Barlow
Prominence Closeup:
A Stack of the best 1200 frames from 4800, taken using a Moonfish 3X ED Barlow

This is the Full disk on its own:

Equipment: Lunt LS60THA50DS - Solar Telescope, on an LXD75 Mount and DMK 31AF03 Camera.
Post Processing: Registax, AutoPano Pro and Adobe Photoshop
Taken From: Cherrymount, Waterford, Ireland
Thanks for Looking

Very dramatic image Steve,
With the sun becoming more active, I think the sales of these solar scopes is going to increase.

Excellent images Steve, the Lunt appears to be a fantastic scope.

Thanks for the feedback folks.
Paul, the Lunt certainly is performing well, and I am very pleased with the level of detail it renders. Despite the 17 Month wait from order to receiving it.... it certainly is living up to expectations.
Dave, I am really looking forward to using this scope during the lead up to solar maximum, hopefully the best is yet to come.
Donal, yep the LXD75 is back in action. I held onto the mount for this purpose. Its ideal for the Lunt and is more portable, lightweight and involves much less setup time than the CGE. Perfect for a quick set up.... and imaging of the Sun.
Michael, cheers for that, I am still experimenting with the workflows for Solar Imaging Processing. It was interesting to learn how different the approach is,when compared to my normal "night time" routines. Thats the fun part though
This is an image from earlier in the month showing some interesting Solar Prominence Activity on the Solar Limb:

Best 1254 frames from 5000, stacked in Rgistax.
Cheers
