hmm, dont know if I'd get a cal-k filter for promenences given those images, I tend to think of the cal-k filter as a white light filter on steroids with enhanced faculae and granulation, I suppose a view though it will tell.

Lesson learnt this morning:
I normally have a Baader UV/IR filter on my DMk when imaging. For CaK imaging, this NEEDS to come off.
Exposure time with filter ON: 1/10th sec
Exposure time with filter OFF: 1/600th sec + significantly more detail!
Below are a couple of images taken earlier today:
Telescope: TEC140 operating at 100 f/10 with an aperture-reduction mask.
Camera: DMK21 mono; 1/600th sec exposures; Gain @ lowest setting; Gamma @ 50; 60 frames per second; 2000 frames per video clip
Software: Processed in Registax; Quality setting @ 90%; Sharpening: Level 1 @ 20.
Software: Image colourised in Photoshop to make it appear similar to the colour one sees through the eyepiece.
I've taken a sequence of images right across the disc but PS doesn't seem to like piecing them together too easily. ;-(
Regards,
Michael.

Best time for observing the Sun by FAR is in the morning.
Seeing tends to degrade significantly during the course of the day.
These images were taken about 11am.
I tried imaging earlier but haze and wisps of cloud didn't help.
The seeing at the time of these images was pretty average for a sunny day like today.

Holy cow.
Awesome stuff!
Seeing...
Surely the heat of the Sun is going to cause difficult seeing no?

Thanx for the info Michael. Your getting good detail there surprising your not seeing proms though. Nick H says theyre easy with his b1200 modded kit. It looks very similar to what I see with my Herschel wedge and Schuler UV filter - must do a comparison sometime, I would expect your tighter bandwidth will give you more detail. For anyone wanting to get a general idead of CaK UV (with a Baader film in front of course!)is a good way (and cheap) way of starting.
