Sun spots taken with a dslr was created by Dublinskywatch
Took these today.
First time at the scope in 3 months.
The close up is shot through a 15mm eye piece.

Thats Active Region AR11109 and youve captured it very well especially the penumbral (lighter) area around the spot. Even more so as its eyepiece proj. what scope is it and how did you focus

Thanks Dave.
I shot it using my cpc800.
The 5d mark ii has live view with magnification. Once I centered the main sun spot I just carefully focused it using the scope focus. It can be a bit fiddly but I am use to it by now.
